The research was carried out by Compass Plus, an international provider of retail banking and electronic payments software to processors and financial institutions, which uncovered how the generational age gap in banking habits has gradually closed in recent years.

With latest figures showing that over 40% of consumers globally are willing to switch banks rather than put up with a less-than-optimal mobile experience, and more than 80% of bank customers in developed economies are now using a mobile as their primary banking channel, it is clear that banks that fail to anticipate their customers’ changing needs and adapt their mobile offering accordingly risk being left behind.

Compass Plus’ innovative universal mobile payments service, MobiCash, has scooped Best Mobile Payments Solutions award at the ninth annual Payments Awards. MobiCash received the accolade during an in-person awards ceremony which took place at Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London on Thursday 11th November. The awards recognise excellence and innovation in the payments industry as a whole.
