Liberty Bank is one of the first in Georgia to launch tokenisation services

Liberty Bank, the third largest bank in Georgia, has become one of the first banks in the country to introduce Visa and Mastercard card tokenisation services with technological support from Compass Plus Technologies, an international provider of retail banking and electronic payments software to payment processors and financial institutions.

Liberty Bank customers can now benefit from the convenience of using their mobile phone to make contactless purchases in shops, and for making payments in apps. By becoming one of the first banks in the country to offer this service to its customers, the bank has proved itself to be at the forefront of the local payments market.

During the implementation of the project, the Visa Token Service and Mastercard Digital Enablement Service needed to be supported within a short timeframe, requiring resource mobilisation both from the bank and Compass Plus to ensure the project went live as soon as possible.

The partnership between Liberty Bank and Compass Plus began in 2005, and the implementation of this project has, once again, demonstrated the flexibility of Compass Plus Technologies' ability to meet the latest industry requirements and trends. I would also like to note the high qualification of Compass Plus specialists who have successfully met all the stated objectives,” said Mariam Gogia, Head of Cards & Payments at Liberty Bank.

“The launch of the project at Liberty Bank is important for –°ompass Plus Technologies, as it shows our desire to help develop our customers’ business. It was critical that we met the deadlines set by the bank, and we were pleased to be, together with Liberty Bank, amongst the first to introduce the new payment service to the Georgian market,” said Alexey Osipov, EVP & CRD Managing Director at Compass Plus.
