Payments Awards shortlist FraudAxis for AI-Driven Fraud Prevention Platform of the Year

Compass Plus Technologies’ next-generation fraud management platform recognised by the Payments Awards for its innovative approach to AI-powered fraud prevention

FraudAxis, the AI-powered fraud management platform from Compass Plus Technologies, has been shortlisted for AI-Driven Fraud Prevention Platform of the Year at the Payments Awards.

The award recognises excellence in AI-powered fraud prevention, with judges looking for platforms that use artificial intelligence, machine learning and behavioural analytics to detect and prevent fraud in real time. Particular emphasis is placed on the ability to identify emerging threats, reduce false positives, maintain a frictionless customer experience and deliver measurable improvements in fraud reduction, operational efficiency and customer trust.

Launched in 2025, FraudAxis was developed to help banks, processing centres, Fintechs and PSPs move from reactive fraud defence towards proactive, real-time fraud prevention. At the heart of the platform is a powerful risk rules engine that works alongside two AI machine learning models - one for behavioural profiling and one for anomaly detection. This hybrid approach enables financial institutions to understand normal customer, account and device behaviour, identify unusual activity and detect emerging fraud patterns, while retaining the transparency and control of institution-specific fraud rules.

FraudAxis supports real-time fraud prevention across cards, accounts, payments and digital banking channels, helping fraud teams make faster, better-informed decisions without creating unnecessary friction for genuine customers.

Fraudsters are already exploiting speed, automation and increasingly sophisticated technology, so financial institutions cannot afford to fight tomorrow’s fraud with yesterday’s tools. AI gives us the ability to analyse behaviour and patterns at a scale that simply isn’t possible through rules alone - spotting anomalies, recognising emerging threats and continually improving the quality of fraud decisions. Crucially, that intelligence has to work both ways: stopping fraudulent activity while allowing legitimate customers to transact without unnecessary friction. This shortlist is great recognition of the team behind FraudAxis and of our commitment to applying AI where it can make a tangible difference to fraud prevention.said Maria Nottingham, Founder & Managing Director at Compass Plus Technologies
